Driver Safety Program
The South St. Paul Senior Center has partnered with the Minnesota Highway Safety and Research Center (MHSRC) to offer driver improvement courses for mature drivers. As with all driver improvements courses sanctioned by the State Department of Public Safety, drivers over 55 may be entitled to a 10% discount on their auto insurance. An eight hour course is initially required, followed by a four-hour refresher class every three years. All driver improvement courses must be refreshed every three years to keep the discount in force. No written or behind the- wheel tests will be given.
How to Register
To register, call the MHSRC toll free at 1-888-234-1294.
You will pay at the time of your class. Please note there is a $5 fee for any changes on pre-paid classes and no refund if you are unable to attend a prepaid class. Walk-in registration will be accepted at the discretion of the instructor.
